The Lady Has A Name

Mmeeeow!
Today was day six of Linus Dutchie 1 ownership and six days straight of taking her for rides out on the town. This morning I parked her across the street from the hair salon - Haircut pics soon!

As I stepped out of the salon and laid eyes on my new bicycle (photographed exactly as the scenario unfolded on the Upper East Side) I realized what a strikingly hot lady she is! She is so upright and civilized, she must have a very upright, civilized name. She's a very white bike and I'm a very white lady.

I began asking myself: What is an upright, civilized, white lady name? KATE MIDDLETON!
My new bike is Catherine Middleton! She can be Katie Mae when we're getting down & dirty!
She's the Duchess! Hello! It's perfect.

I also want to be Kate Middleton's and this Bicycle's Best Friend so it's great!

Wednesday I was too beat (and busy going to Forever 21 behind Matt's back) to take my outfit pic. I re-wore this great F21 skirt and a black tank- But the whole week I wore a skirt or a dress and not flip-flops! This lady bike has me dressing like a big old LadyBiker!

I even wore RED lipstick on the day it was 97ยบ in New York City.
@SD took the cutest pic of me on our way to work:
@SD got me on my ride to work this morning!

Today was supposed to be World Naked Bike Ride and I was dressed and ready and shopping with Matt in SoHo suffering in the rain when it got canceled.  Me and Kate Middleton had our first ride in the rain all the way home. We are going to find some stylish rain gear asap!

  3. I found your blog a couple days before your bike got ran over and hadn't had a chance to make an appropriate comment - it was such a tragedy! I'm very sorry, and not very surprised, to hear about your negative bike shop experience. It's all too common to hear comments like yours from the customers that have come into the shops where I've worked over the years. It's a male- and hipster-dominated industry, what can I say? What makes me so happy to read about is how you turned all these things positive - cause you get to ride this adorable bike!

  4. Thanks! I hope me and this bicycle, Kate, Katie Mae, AKA - The Duchess have a wonderful life together!

I'm a little worried for my hot pink tires' life and might get more Kryptonite lock-rope to secure 'em when she does park outside.

  5. You could do with little covers over the bottom two tubes of your bike Julie, so you don't catch them with your feet and you don't get bike scratched when you park it up against a lamp post.

It's such a pretty thing, a shame if it got too many scratches. You could make a couple of patches, and pad them.
