Hello from the country

If you're wondering how I'm doing out in the country- That's me in the middle. The picture is from a birthday party I went to this week. It was a nice, small, chill party.

I live in the capitol city, Little Rock, but man, it's still country-feeling.

What am I up to?
Un-packing and organizing, re-organizing, rearranging, repeat.

DRIVING SO MUCH. I'm in a car almost every day. We can walk to a bi-weekly farmer's market and some shops and restaurants but we do not live in walking or (not that I'm into yet) biking distance from a grocery store.

I don't feel extremely cut-off from NYC civilization but I do see web-browsing trends within myself. I'm not working at a clothing company (or anywhere for that matter) so I'm realizing how much trend research was flying at my head at all times. Since the NYC fashion everywhere element has been removed from my life, I am seeking it out a little more on the internet.

Not that I'm really getting dressed- I rarely fix my hair and seem to wear "dog walking" type outfits.

I was excited to have a "date" Friday night, and was almost thrilled to blow-dry my hair.
Saturday we tried out a nice-ish restaurant so a sundress came out. Loca Luna is a winner!

I'm reading tons of home organizing & design blogs because I want to whip this place into shape. There are boxes of books and clothes that were in storage for several years that we finally have the space to keep with us. Maybe.

I've dropped off tons of fabulous mess at the Goodwill.

So I'm a little bit boring, and sometimes that's OK.

  2. With November right around the corner I'm sure you won't be bored much longer. Lot's of work to do! But if you have to be bored, a floating in a tube on a lake really can't be beat.

I've pretty much been up to the same stuff as you. Unpacking and reorganzing and trying to figure out what's what in Phx. I was where you are 5 years ago trying to adjust to a much smaller city but it seems like you are off to a much better start. I can't wait to see where you take things.
