Love the advice, although I haven't yet watched your PSA. Life is too short to spend all your time multi-tasking. Why text while driving? I don't even talk on the phone while driving. I decided recently that I'm going to work on not being a slave to my devises, especially my smart phone.

Just want to send you a message of support. I had been considering bike commuting for some time (I live in Seattle -- at the top of a big hill!), and your blog was the first I found that really gave me to push to do it. Mostly it's the "I can do it in normal clothes while looking cute" thing. I was not interested in changing when I got to work each morning.

I also enjoy your posts about hair, makeup, etc. It doesn't have to be all about bikes all the time. When I started riding I loved it right away, and could not stop talking about and thinking about riding. However, my friends don't ride so I started a blog just so that I could stop bothering people who didn't care. I became excited to meet other people who ride, but I've been mostly disappointed. Because of the intense hills here, mostly only the hardcore spandexed people ride. And that's frustrating, because they don't understand how *you* can do it and still look normal.

So my point is that I've been riding now, year-round, for just over a year. I'm obsessed, and you are partially to thank for that.

Happy bike to work day! I just thought I'd share that since I found your blog I decided to start riding my bike to work about a month ago! I'm so glad I did, I'm sure my commute isn't nearly as crazy as yours but I thought if she can do it so can I! So I just want to say thanks for the motivation and all the awesome posts you do!

What? Helmets are not cool? Neither is being dead or having a massive lump on the skull. I say Helmet Chic is the way forward!

I don't know what The Times's article with Bill Cunningham is all about, but if a safety aware lady is in it, then I hope that it would slowly turn peoples heads around towards helmets. (awful pun intended!)

Seeing Bill Cunningham snapping away during the 5-Boro was a huge highlight for me as well. My family wasn't in spandex either--> We were the crazy ones hauling three boys on the back of two long tail cargo bikes, my husband wearing cargo shorts and his Chuckie T's!

I am *far* from cycle chic or chic on any level, but I do so love "On the Street." Will be looking for photos of you!
