First - Let me clear things up- I don't have a typical "model" body. I'm a junior medium fit model. I fit a very specific body measurement several of this company's fit-models before me, and industry standards for such a model. Seeing these other ladies of the exact same size made me realize why people have always commented on my height. I'm not crazy tall, but I'm about 5'8"
The receptionist stuff is pretty standard, but the fit-modeling is something some people are interested to hear about.
Pretty much every single day, at least once a day, I change out of my own clothes, and put on my standard uniform for fittings, which is a slim tank top & leggings. Usually the fittings take place in the conference area with a team of people from different departments. I try each piece on at the end of a conference table for everyone to see. I try each piece on and talk about how it feels and I have a full-length mirror to consider how things look, and I make comments based on appearance and feel. As in, this arm feels tight, this neck is too low, etc. Then we all discuss the garment and work on a plan of action.
Often, I'm just sitting at my desk and someone will ask me to "throw this on" and I am happy to oblige. That's what I'm there for! Sometimes I get pulled aside to do "blind tests" or "hand-feel" tests where I have to try what I think is 3 of the exact same thing and tell which one I think is best, or just feel a bunch of different fabric samples and make a judgment about which one I like.
Learning all this stuff has made me extra picky when I try on clothes in stores now.
I previously had a good "eye" for clothes, but now my eye is expertly trained for proper clothing construction.

The technical seamstress measures the garments and she measures me often and keeps track to make sure I'm staying the same size. It's important for me to stay the same size to maintain consistency for the brands we produce, and to maintain consistency throughout the process of fittings and construction of the garments. This has been great, because I've started watching what I eat. It's well-known that my waist is 28" and my bicep girth is 11" and many, many, many of my measurements - neck, ankle, mid-torso, are all on record.
